Terms of service
Last updated 9 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses Pateway: merchants and their staff, agents, and visitors to this website. By using Pateway you agree to them.
1. What Pateway is
Pateway is software for agent-assisted payment collection. Merchants use it to send collection and payout orders, match them with their own approved agents, check proof of payment and keep ledgers with each agent.
Pateway is not a bank, a wallet or a payment institution. It does not hold, move or guarantee anyone's money.
2. Merchants
Pateway opens each merchant account. Before taking live orders, a merchant passes business verification and signs a service agreement with Pateway.
A merchant is responsible for its agents: approving them, checking their identity under local rules, signing an agent agreement with each of them, setting their limits and deposits, and settling with them.
A merchant must show its customers who each payment is for, and must use Pateway only for lawful goods and services.
3. Agents
An agent works for one merchant and joins through that merchant's agent app. The merchant approves the agent and is the agent's counterparty. Pateway is not.
An agent collects and pays only in the merchant's name, within the limits the merchant sets, and uploads a true transaction ID for every order.
4. Money and fees
Money moves outside Pateway, directly between customers, agents and merchants. Pateway records orders and balances. It does not receive, hold or pay out funds.
Deposits, settlements and commission are arranged between each merchant and its agents. Each transfer is confirmed by hand by the side that receives it, and Pateway records the confirmation.
A merchant pays Pateway a platform fee for each confirmed order, at the rate set for that merchant. Test orders are free. Amounts in different currencies are kept apart and never converted.
5. Orders and proofs
A confirmed order cannot be undone. If an order was confirmed by mistake, the merchant corrects the balance with an adjustment, which is recorded with a reason.
An agent who takes an order and does not complete it in time may be fined from their deposit, under the merchant's settings. The merchant can reverse a fine.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Pateway for gambling, fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion or anything else that is illegal where you or the customer are.
Do not upload false proofs, use someone else's identity, let anyone else use your account, or try to reach the data of another merchant. Pateway is not offered in mainland China.
7. Accounts and security
Merchant staff sign in with two-step verification. Agents sign in with a one-time code and confirm sensitive actions with a PIN. Keep these to yourself. Actions taken with your account are treated as yours.
8. Suspension
Pateway may suspend a merchant that breaks these terms or the law. A merchant may suspend its agents at any time. A suspended agent can still sign in to settle balances, withdraw commission and get their deposit back.
9. Availability and liability
We work to keep Pateway available, but we do not promise that it will never be interrupted.
Pateway is not responsible for payments made outside the orders it records, for losses caused by false proofs or by a merchant's or agent's own actions, or for decisions a merchant makes about its agents. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Using Pateway after a change means you accept the updated terms.
